Master-degree student Alexandre Leonard about his practical training
In the past years, many young people visited our company für some practical training. Many of the apprentices employed by Briese Schiffahrt spend some months at the Operating and Chartering departments to get a wide spectre of commercial and special shipping knowledge during their apprenticeship.
Several of them stayed with Briese Chartering for working here after completion of their training.
Sometimes, also students from different universities want to improve their knowledge and ask for training periods here in our office. One of them is 24-year-old Alexandre Leonard, a French guy studying Shipping & Trading at the University of Nantes for Econmomy and Management. He spent three months in Leer and arranged a small statement about his time here at Briese Chartering.

My name is Alexandre Leonard, in the context of my master degree in shipping trading, I was supposed to carry out a 3-month internship.
I wished to have an experience within an owner company and thanks to "Briese Chartering", who kindly gave me this opportunity.
At Briese there is a good atmosphere which allows me to work and learn in the best condition. I was really surprised how the team trains their interns. Indeed, they trusted me with work and responsabilities while most companies would wait for a few days or set you next to another colleague, just to watch him doing his daily job. I carried out some internships before and it is the first time that i have seen this training method. Thanks to them, I was able to learn quicker and improve faster my skills.
