Ilona, how long are you with Briese Chartering?
On this "rock-n-roll" stage I am already more than 20 years and still enjoying it very much.
How did it start then?
That time there were no coasters under our direct chartering, all of them worked in time-charter or in commercial management with other companies.
But if you want to start walk, you will need to take the first step. So we started from the first vessel Scharhoern, a 2800 dwt SaimaaMax type and understood that we can do it ourselves and even metter than others. And so later we kept all vessels after redelivery from time-charter as well as all new building vessels from the shipyards for our own chartering management.
What was your favorite shipment during your time at BrCh? Any special memories on a certain shipment?
My favorite shipment was many years ago during high market level, perfomed by m/v Geise when the voyage started in Black Sea and finished two months later in Baltic sea with hard to imagine number of part cargoes on such small vessel and port calls on the way, like bus on the land. That time we reached an incredibly high voyage result as our record of teamwork.
And I hope that the time will come to repeat the same or even to do it better.
